Design Award Finalists

Following a very healthy response with entries from some of the most well known and prestigious four and five star hotels in the UK a shortlist of three finalists has been drawn up. The suites of these hotels represent the finest that Britain has to offer in terms of high end luxury and comfort. The suites of two of the three finalists are aptly named The Royal Suites and it’s easy to see why. These suites have been designed with Kings and Queens and Princes and Princesses, as well as presidents, film stars and movie moguls in mind.
The winner will be announced on The Stage at 3pm Monday 27th February.

Pavilion Number One, Lime Wood Hotel, New Forest, Hampshire
This hotel suite has been designed by David Collins to provide a home from home for guests who are looking for privacy, relaxation and comfort in the countryside. The brick built Pavilion is one of several small ‘houses’ built around the perimeter of Limewood’s beautiful manicured gardens. The Pavilion is designed on two levels with a large and comfortable lounge and dining space on the ground floor complete with a cosy open log fire and a small private garden which backs onto the New Forest. On the first floor is a huge master bedroom with a feature roll-top bath situated in the window bay and a separate bath and shower room.

The Royal Suite, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, London
This is a stunning and grand suite with master bedroom, two additional double bedrooms, balconies overlooking Hyde Park, a boardroom and a magnificent master bathroom. Quintessentially English but perfectly suited to foreign dignitaries, Arab Princes and heads of State. It’s no surprise to learn that this suite is regularly hired for filming. UK based Interior designers RPW have excelled themselves with this design, as the rooms were also re-configured and meticulously restored during the design process.
