SANDRA'S STORY:
After leaving college Sandra commenced her career working in hotel management both in Scotland and subsequently for Trust House Forte. Joining Warwickshire County Council in 1978, Sandra progressed through the service in various roles and then became Head of Catering in 1989. During her time in this role catering has been provided to schools, police, social services, training establishments and the Judges House/Civic Suite in Headquarters – although school meals has always been a predominant element of the provision.
Sandra has been a member of LACA since its inception and has held various offices during the 20 years from Regional Chairman (West Midlands) to National Chairman in 2007-8. During her year as National Chair Sandra has worked hard to formalise “partnership working” with the School Food Trust and the DCSF for the benefit of the industry, whilst acting as a champion for the catering organisations during a period of high media interest.
